Studies in „Interaction Management“ at the FHBB HyperWerk School (2000 – 2003)

http://www.hyperwerk.ch

Definition of HyperWerk/Fachhochschule beider Basel

«HyperWerk grasps the change of technologies and society as constant of the industry and takes it as content of the education. The study supports the development of self-educated solution strategies by considering the know-how of technology, design and economy. Through the development and the use of innovative forms and methods of the information transmission and the cooperation the study acts as a testing platform for the use of interactive media in education and at work.» Didactically, this education is based on two pillars: workshops, lectures and seminars give the theoretical background.
For the most part, students are taught how to elaborate a procedure in order to reach a certain target. The second pillar is project work, which follows another model of teaching: know-how and experience are transformed into authentic products which can be inspected and understood by the public. Thanks to this, students get an insight into the real world of economy and can already prove their abilities during the study.

Basic structure

The study is didactically built on design, technology, management and interaction and follows the demandings of praxis: from the beginning, students develop their own project work on existing research projects (e. g. EU, KTI) in order to be concerned with the subjects which are relevant to the studies through practical work.

In addition to the project work, there are workshops offered which are often held by international reputated specialists in technology, design and management in the scope of interactive media.

Industrial internships are supported by the study direction. The internship must relate to the contents of the study and lasts between two and three months.
